Check out what Adam told Ellen his addiction is:
We all know the drill – it’s about 2 in the afternoon, and your eyelids are getting heavy. What do you reach for? Caffeine, of course. Whether it’s in the form of a latte, espresso, or a five-hour energy drink, that’s the drug of choice.
And because it’s a drug, it IS possible to overdose on it. According to Refinery 29, a safe dosage is up to 3-hundred milligrams per day. That’s up to four cups of coffee. But problems can happen when you get a thousand milligrams.
It’s not really that hard to get there – especially if you’re fan of energy drinks. Red Bulls have about 80 milligrams per can, and bigger drinks can pack up to 240 grams. And because the body metabolizes energy drinks differently than coffee, you have to be careful.
Here are some of the symptoms of caffeine overdose.
